Visitors
|
Visitors have a restriction on the amount of time they may stay within Canada and are prohibited from working or attending school in Canada. Applicants must be able to show they have significant family, social, economic, and cultural ties to their country of origin and that they have sufficient means to support themselves during their stay in Canada.
Visitor visas may be extended with a valid reason. On filing for application, the Visa issuing office abroad may require testimonial statements of visitors to leave Canada upon expiry of their visit. This procedure is of some complexity and should be handled by an experienced consultant. CIIC has the experience in assisting our clients in filing such applications. Please contact our office for details. |

Students
|
Most international students are required to have authorization to receive academic, professional, or vocational training in Canada. Community college and university students may be issued authorizations that are valid for the duration of their program of study.
An application for temporary entry into Canada may be submitted to a Canadian visa post abroad after the student has enrolled in a government-approved academic institution, been accepted by that institution and paid his/her fees. CIIC also assists our clients in admissions and student visas. |

Foreign Workers
|
Foreign workers whose skills are in demand in Canada and who can provide significant economic value to the Canadian workforce, are issued employment authorizations and admitted to Canada on a temporary basis. In many instances, a job validation from a Canada Employment Centre is required before the applicant can submit their Application for Temporary Entry to Canada to a Canadian visa post abroad.
However, the process requires that a Canadian employer originates a demand for such workers and obtain a labour market opinion from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada in order to substantiate the application. |
Live-in Caregivers
|
Live-in caregivers are individuals who are qualified to provide care for children, elderly persons or persons with disabilities in private homes without supervision. Live-in caregivers must live in the private home where they work in Canada.
To work as a live-in caregiver in Canada, the applicant must make an application to the Live-In Caregiver Program. The prospective employer must also file an application in Canada for a need of a live-in caregiver. If the application is successful, a work permit will be issued.
Attractive Feature
After two years of employment experience as a live-in caregiver, the applicant is eligible to apply for permanent resident visa in Canada. |
