Visitors
|
Visitors have a restriction on the amount of time they
may stay within Canada and do not have the opportunity
to work or attend school. Applicants must be able to show
they have significant family, social, economic, and cultural
ties to their country of origin and that they have sufficient
means to support themselves during their stay in Canada.
Visitor visas may be extended with good reason. |

Students
|
| Most
international students are required to have authorization
to receive academic, professional, or vocational training
in Canada. Community college and university students may
be issued authorizations that are valid for the duration
of their program of study. An application for temporary
entry into Canada may be submitted to a Canadian visa
post abroad after the student has enrolled in a government-approved
academic institution, been accepted by that institution
and paid his/her fees. |

Employment Authorizations
|
| Foreign
workers whose skills are in demand, or who can provide
significant economic or other benefits, are issued employment
authorizations and admitted on a temporary basis. In many
instances, a job validation from a Canada Employment Centre
is required before the applicant can submit their Application
for Temporary Entry to Canada to a Canadian visa post
abroad. Presently there is a special program that applies
to individuals, who are qualified under certain requirements
to enter Canada, known as a Live-in
